Hair loss is not a recent problem but has existed for centuries. In earlier times, men and women used a number of solutions, ointments and concoctions as treatments for their hair loss by applying them on their thinning hair for regrowth. For instance, ancient Egyptians made use of various animals such as lions, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, serpents, geese and other animals for their hair loss problem. They rubbed the fats of these animals onto their scalps as a remedy for hair loss. These types of treatments are called as topical hair loss treatments in recent times wherein hair loss problem is treated through application of various solutions and ointments to the surface of the skin or the scalp. There are a variety of topical drugs available in the market but is always better to purchase these drugs with doctor’s advice to avoid any kind of side effects and other unnecessary damages. One of the most commonly doctor prescribed topical hair loss treatments for women is a topical solution that contains 2% of Minoxodil. It is observed that Minoxodil is a popular drug used by both men and women to prevent hair loss. Rogain is another commonly used topical solution that needs to be applied 2-3 times every day in order to reduce hair loss.Topical hair loss treatments stimulate the hair follicles to rapidly produce new tissues or cells. This rapid multiplication of hair follicles results in better hair growth and helps to improve the density of hair. Topical hair loss treatments also include the usage of various hair loss shampoos and conditioners. At times, certain topical solutions contain very strong compounds that may cause irritation and other serious side effects. Hence, it is recommended that the people suffering from high blood pressure or any heart disease must avoid topical hair loss treatments. These treatments can also be dangerous for women who are pregnant or nursing and are not advisable for them.Research shows that topical hair loss treatments through their various special shampoos, conditioners, scalp lotions or solutions and other products provide a better result as compared to other effective and proven treatments.

Hair is the fastest growing tissue of the body. It is made of keratins which are a type of proteins. Each hair strand includes three layers: the medulla (the inner layer), the cortex and the cuticle. Hair grows from roots – Those roots get the vital ingredients to the hair growth by the blood. The roots are a living tissue but the visible hair strand is a dead tissue. Therefore, any hair loss treatment should take care of the scalp and roots and not of the hair strands.Hair loss causes a great deal of stress and anxiety. In society, one of the factors other people judge us by is our looks, which includes our hair. Hair loss, therefore, can have an enormous impact on self-perception, self-esteem, and social life. Although there is no cure for excessive hair loss caused by male or female pattern hair loss, there are a variety of hair loss remedies available for people suffering from hair loss. The most common type of female hair loss is androgenetic alopecia or female-pattern baldness. This type of hair loss is associated with hair thinning predominantly over the sides and top of the head. Female hair loss affects about one-third of all susceptible women and usually onsets after menopause although it can begin earlier.Other causes of female hair loss include dieting. Rapid weight loss over a short period of time promotes hair loss and some

supplements such as excessive vitamin A also contribute to hair loss. Physical and emotional stress can cause hair loss but this usually only occurs when the trauma is excessive and of a long duration. Everyday stress does not promote hair loss. Many people that suffer from hair loss find that one good remedy can be found in hair styling and cosmetic techniques. Hair coloring, waves, and haircuts alone can make a big difference in the way you look and feel, making hair loss much less apparent.Rogaine, the FDA approved topical treatment for female and male pattern hair loss, is a popular hair loss remedy. Though not always effective in promoting new hair growth, if used regularly, Rogaine can be effective in slowing or even stopping hair loss.Hair attachments are another option in the search for an effective hair loss remedy. Made out of human hair and synthetic fibers, these attachments give the appearance of a fuller head of hair. They are kept on by being anchored to the existing hair, skin, or grafted on through surgical techniques.Lastly, a hair loss remedy that can be effective but costly is hair transplant or replacement surgery. With improving results and procedures, this surgical procedure takes healthy follicles and distributes them over other areas of the scalp affected by baldness.

If you see a doctor about hair loss, he or she will check your scalp and, in some cases, may take hair samples. You may also be tested for certain medical conditions that can cause hair loss.If medication is causing hair loss, ask the doctor if a different drug can be substituted. If your hair loss is due to an endocrine condition, like diabetes or thyroid disease, proper treatment and control of the underlying disorder is important to reduce or prevent hair loss. Using a product like minoxidil that can discourage hair loss and speed up hair growth also may be helpful. Alopecia areata can be helped by treatment with corticosteroids. And if a doctor finds that nutritional deficiencies are causing your hair loss, he or she may refer you to a dietitian or other nutrition expert.

Is there any treatment for hair loss?

Depending on your type of hair loss, treatments are available. If a medicine is causing your hair loss, your doctor may be able to prescribe a different medicine. Recognizing and treating an infection may help stop the hair loss. Correcting a hormone imbalance may prevent further hair loss.may also help slow or prevent the development of common baldness. One medicine, minoxidil (brand name: Rogaine), is available without a prescription. It is applied to the scalp. Both men and women can use it. Another medicine, finasteride (brand name: Propecia) is available with a prescription. It comes in pills and is only for men. It may take up to 6 months before you can tell if one of these medicines is working.adequate treatment is not available for your type of hair loss, you may consider trying different hairstyles or wigs, hairpieces, hair weaves or artificial hair replacement.
Hair loss is a big worry to many people, both male and female. If you have a worrying amount of hair in the basin after shampooing, you may think you are on the way to baldness. But this is not usually the case. The 50–100 hairs that everyone loses each day often become tangled with the rest of the hair, but are washed out when we shampoo. So we see what seems like a lot of hair in the basin after shampooing, but in reality these hairs have been shed earlier.Of course, bald areas are an obvious sign of hair loss, but otherwise it can be difficult to tell whether your hair is getting thinner. To find out, try the ‘tug test’. Hold a small bunch of hair – about 15 or 20 hairs – between the thumb and index finger. Pull slowly and firmly. If more than six hairs come out there may be a problem.

How hair grows

The portion of the hair that we can see is called the shaft. Each shaft of hair protrudes from its follicle, which is a tube-like pouch just below the surface of the skin. The hair is attached to the base of the follicle by the hair root, which is where the hair actually grows and where it is nourished by tiny blood vessels.Like the rest of the body, hairs are made of cells. As new cells form at its root, the hair is gradually pushed further and further out of the follicle. The cells at the base of each hair are close to the blood supply and are living. As they get pushed further away from the base of the follicle, they no longer have any nourishment and so they die. As they die, they are transformed into a hard protein called keratin. So, each hair we see above the skin is dead protein. It is the follicle, which lies deep in the skin, that is the essential growing part of the hair.

What happens to cause baldness

Excessive hair loss can occur if any of the stages of hair growth become disrupted. For example, if follicles shut down (meaning that they stay in the resting phase and then shed the hair) instead of growing new hairs, there will be less hair on the head.
Another reason might be interference with the formation of new hair cells at the root during the growing phase; this occurs with some anticancer drugs. If follicles have been destroyed (as they might be by, for example, a burn or by some skin diseases), there will be baldness in that area.An individual can also look bald if the hairs are growing but are so fragile that they break just as they emerge from the follicle, or if they are very small and thin.In 1998, scientists at Columbia University in New York announced the discovery of a gene that appears to be the ‘master switch’ for hair growth. They found the gene after comparing the genes of hairless mice belonging to a mutant breed, and comparing the genes of 11 members of the same family who had lost all their hair. This discovery is a step towards understanding how the hair follicle works and how baldness happens, and may lead to effective treatments in the future.

What causes male hair loss?

Some men have areas on the scalp that are very sensitive to the male sex hormones that circulate in men’s blood. The hormones make the hair follicles - from which hair grows - shrink. Eventually, they become so small that they cannot replace lost hairs. The follicles are still alive, but are no longer able to perform their task.
The condition usually starts in men aged 20 to 30 and follows a typical pattern. First, a receding hairline develops, and gradually the hair on top of the head also begins to thin. Eventually, the two balding areas meet to form a typical U-shape around the back and sides of the head. The hair that remains is often finer, and does not grow as quickly as it used to.

Can male hair loss be prevented?

Male hair loss is genetically determined (passed on from parents). Although a doctor can offer medical treatment to improve the condition, this may have side effects.
What can be done at home?
You need to decide how you feel about hair loss. Male hair loss affects a large part of the male population and people react very differently to it.It is important to try to accept hair loss for what it is - something natural. Rather than trying to camouflage bald spots with remaining hair or a wig, it is probably a better idea to leave your hair as it is, or shave it off completely. If, however, you decide to try to regain your hair, possible medical treatments are discussed below.Propecia works by inhibiting the production of a hormone called DHT that is known to be a catalyst in causing hair loss. Studies have shown that almost 80% of men using Propecia stopped or even reversed their hair loss to some degree.
Propecia is only available by prescription. To find a quality hair restoration physician who can provide a prescription for Propecia.

Learn more about Propecia, including possible side affects.

To learn more about Propecia and dozens of non surgical treatments visit the multimedia Hair Loss Learning Center.Rogaine works by revitalizing shrunken hair follicles, thus increasing their size. When Rogaine is used every day, persons follicles may increase in size, and the growing phase may become longer. This may then produce longer, thicker hairs.Rogaine can be purchased over the counter. Learn more about Rogaine
Note - Propecia and Rogaine typically only restore hair in the frontal areas. For reasons yet unknown these drugs only generally work in regrowing thinning hair in crown area of the scalp. Only hair transplant surgery has been successful in restoring hair in the frontal hairline area once it has been lost.

The Good News and the Bad News
In clinical studies, approximately 20% of men taking the one milligram daily dose of Propecia grew moderate to heavy amounts of new hair after one year. Another 30% had less cosmetically apparent growth. These numbers inched up slightly when used for two years. And both Propecia and minoxidil work best in men who are losing hair on the top of their heads (instead of a receding hairline or frontal hair loss). Minoxidil also may lead to new hair production, but results are more variable because of individual inconsistencies in committing to a twice/daily program of applying the solution to the scalp. But it isn’t only Propecia’s ability to grow hair that interests some doctors. There is evidence that Propecia can help men stop losing the hair they have. So it appears that even if Propecia doesn’t help you grow lots of new hair, it’s a good bet you’ll keep what you have—at least for a while.
You must be patient, though, and be willing to take the drug once a day indefinitely. It may take 3-4 months before new hair is noticed. If you stop taking the drug, all your newly grown hair will fall out over time. The same is true with minoxidil.
There may be even more good news for the balding among us: the 2003 Prostate Cancer Prevention trial seems to have established that finasteride is effective in reducing prostate cancer risk. Since bald men may have somewhat increased risk of prostate cancer, finasteride treatment may offer benefits beyond just improving appearance.
Side Effects
Propecia has some potentially unsettling side effects. Propecia has been associated with a reduced sex drive, occasional impotence, and/or a smaller amount of ejaculate, but these side effects are not common and disappear when the drug is stopped. Comparatively, minoxidil’s side effects most commonly include scalp itch or skin irritation.
Men taking the drug should alert their physicians. One effect of taking Propecia is that it will lower PSA, a compound produced by the body in the presence of a prostate cancer or just with increased age. Blood tests checking for PSA levels may be more difficult to interpret as a result. Of course men who have both hair loss and symptoms of prostate obstruction (hesitancy in urinating, diminished urinary stream, and others) may find these symptoms improved if they take finasteride because of baldness.
In our opinion, Propecia is a valuable weapon against the hereditary onslaught of hair loss and is a much better choice than using Rogaine (Minoxidil) as a single treatment. I should be mentioned here that combining Rogaine and Propecia has a synergistic effect, which means that the benefits can be greater than the combined “solo” effects of the drugs. Another strategy that we commonly use is to combine transplanting of the front part of the head in a younger patient with prescribing Propecia to help retain the hair in back. There is a new and stronger drug, similar to Propecia, called Dutasteride (Avodart), which was recently put out by Glaxo Corporation with F.D.A. approval for use in the treatment of prostate problems. It is anticipated that many physicians will prescribe this “off label” to younger patients for hair loss. At this time I am not prescribing Dutasteride, due to concerns that I have about the elevation of testosterone that occurs and also because, if a man does have side effects from the drug, there is the possibility of these effects remaining for quite a few weeks (or months) due to the long half-life of the drug. And finally, we don’t know what the long-term effects of such strong drug are in terms of later medical effects on the patient’s health. For all of these reasons, Propecia will be the only oral hair-loss drug we will be prescribing for some time to come.

A number of things can cause excessive hair loss. For example, about 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you may suddenly lose a large amount of hair. This hair loss is related to the stress of the illness and is temporary.
Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.
Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they’ve had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones. During pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out. When the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts again. Some medicines can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, medicines used in chemotherapy to treat cancer, vitamin A (if too much is taken), birth control pills and antidepressants.
Certain infections can cause hair loss. Fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss in children. The infection is easily treated with antifungal medicines.
Finally, hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. Since hair loss may be an early sign of a disease, it is important to find the cause so that it can be treated.Since hormones both stimulate hair growth and cause hair loss, hormonal changes by far have the biggest impact on hair loss. These can affect both men and women in the following ways:
This is the most common cause of thinning and affects both men and women. Men generally have hair loss concentrated in a specific pattern from the front through to the crown. Women tend to have thinning throughout their head without being in any specific pattern. This type of hair loss is caused by the androgen DHT, or Dihydrotestosterone. Since everyone has DHT that is produced by their bodies and only some people suffer from hair loss there has to be another factor involved. This other factor is having follicles that have a greater number of Androgen receptors for the DHT to attach to. This is the component that is inherited through the genes. To date the most effective preventative treatments are anti androgens, drugs that prevent the creation of DHT. In the future gene therapy will one day be able to alter the genes to prevent the follicles from being affected by DHT.

Surgical procedures
Hair transplants and scalp reduction surgery are available to treat androgenetic alopecia when more conservative measures have failed. During transplantation a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon takes tiny plugs of skin, each containing one to several hairs, from the back or side of your scalp. The plugs are then implanted into the bald sections. Several transplant sessions may be needed as hereditary hair loss progresses with time.
Scalp reduction, as the name implies, means decreasing the area of bald skin on your head. Your scalp and the top part of your head may seem to have a snug fit. But the skin can become flexible and stretched enough for some of it to be surgically removed. After hairless scalp is removed, the space is closed with hair-covered scalp. Doctors can also fold hair-bearing skin over an area of bald skin in a scalp reduction technique called a flap. Scalp reduction can be combined with hair transplantation to fashion a natural-looking hairline in those with more extensive hair loss.
Surgical procedures to treat baldness are expensive and can be painful. Possible risks include infection and scarring. If you’re interested in these procedures, consider only board-certified dermatologists, plastic surgeons or cosmetic surgeons, and check local and state medical boards for a record of patient complaints before choosing a doctor. Consult with this doctor to confirm the cause of your hair loss and review all treatment options, including nonsurgical ones, before proceeding with plans for surgery.
Wigs and hairpieces
If you would like an alternative to medical treatment for your baldness or if you don’t respond to treatment, you may want to consider wearing a wig or hairpiece. They can be used to cover either permanent or temporary hair loss. Quality, natural-looking wigs and hairpieces are available.Finasteride-Propecia online at cheapest price.

Testosterone floating in the bloodstream of the typical adult male routinely combines with an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase. The result of this interaction forms the more potent sexual hormone known as DHT (Dihydrotestosterone). DHT plays a primary role in proper sexual organ development during the fetal stage of life, as well as the proper development of secondary male characteristics during puberty.

When a man begins to lose his hair, certain genetically programmed follicles begin to develop DHT receptor sites. The DHT attaches itself to these receptor sites and begins to treat the follicle as a foreign object in the body. This chemical change not only affects hair, can cause itching, inflammation, and oiliness. During this time, the follicle, under the attack of DHT, begins to miniaturize with every growth cycle, until after several years, it simply is too small and short to be seen.

When Propecia is taken, it works to inhibit the formation of DHT in the system. Within a few months, the overall DHT levels will have remained low enough on a constant basis that the adverse effects DHT is having on the follicles will stop, resulting in a cessation of hair loss.

Propecia (Finasteride) belongs to a group of medicines called “5 alpha reductase inhibitors”. It is a tan octagonal tablet, which is swallowed and is available in just one strength - 1mg.

Propecia (Finasteride) works by blocking the enzyme, Type II 5 alpha-reductase, and in doing so it reduces the level of the hormone in the scalp which shortens the hair growth cycle and allows hairs to revert to a normal growth cycle. This can result in stopping further hair loss and increasing new hair growth in men with male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia).
Continuous use once a day for 3–6 months is required before benefit is seen, and effects are reversed 6–12 months after treatment is discontinued so continuous use is recommended to sustain benefit. You have big dicounts propecia if you decide to buy propecia now.

If you are experiencing hair loss, you may have already paid a visit to your local pharmacy in search of a remedy or to buy generic propecia(finpecia). While there you might have found yourself in an aisle with shelf after shelf of creams, ointments, shampoos, sprays, fungicides, and vitamin or herbal supplements all claming that they could stop your hair from thinning further. Some of them may have indicated they could even re-grow your missing hair.(Discount finasteride only at our store)
In spite of what you may have seen on the pharmacy shelves, or on late-night infomercials, there are only two medications which have been FDA-approved, and which doctors routinely prescribe, as treatments for hair loss–minoxidil and finasteride. And of these, the more commonly prescribed is finasteride, in the pill form Propecia.
It is possible to stop hair loss with Propecia because male pattern baldness has been closely connected to an imbalance of the hormone dihydroxytestosterone, or DHT
Propecia is one of the medically proven, FDA approved male hair loss treatments and is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. This means that cheapest Propecia prevents the formation of DHT. DHT has no major uses in the body of a developed man so blocking it causes no harm to the body, but does help to prevent hair loss and re-grow hair.
When high levels of a naturally occurring hormone called DHT are present in the scalps of men genetically disposed to Male Pattern Hair Loss, the growth phase of hair is shortened. Eventually, the hairs become so small as to be practically invisible. This can result in the classic male bald hairline if it is not stopped. At our drugstore you find cheapest Propecia.
If you buy Propecia® in the drugstore, expect to pay about $2.00 per pill. If you buy generic Propecia (which is another way of saying 1mg of finasteride or Finpecia) expect to pay about $1.75 per pill. Propecia is expensive any way you look at it.But if you buy generic propecia now we will make big discount finasteride.
You are better off buying it on the internet where it sells for about $0.75 per pill.
Lots of people buy their Propecia on the internet for obvious reasons(one of the reason is that’s cheapest propecia than the pharmacy). Whenever there is lots of competition between sites that sell something the competition drives down the prices.
You should be able to get a good price on Propecia(Finpecia) if you comparison shop.
Stay away from so-called “chewable Propecia” or “Propecia Strips” because it is likely to be counterfeit or bootlegged in a 3rd world Asian country. At our drugstore we guarantee you, that our products are legal. We have the cheapest prices at generic and brand Propecia.
Don’t Forget to include shipping prices when you are comparing between sites.Click to enter in one of our store and you have a special offer:discount finasteride and free shipping for the cheapest propecia that you can get.

Important Information About PROPECIA-Prevent Hair Loss
PROPECIA was developed to treat mild to moderate male pattern hair loss on the vertex (top of head) and anterior mid-scalp area (middle front of head) in MEN ONLY. There is not sufficient evidence that PROPECIA -Prevent Hair Loss works for receding hairlines at the temples.Propecia Pharmacy
Order PROPECIA is for the treatment of male pattern hair loss in MEN ONLY and should NOT be used by women or children.Hair Loss Medication
In clinical studies for PROPECIA, a small number of men experienced certain sexual side effects, such as less desire for sex, difficulty in achieving an erection, or a decrease in the amount of semen. Each of these side effects occurred in less than 2% of men and went away in men who stopped taking PROPECIA-Prevent Hair Loss because of them.Hair Loss Medication
Women who are or may potentially be pregnant must not use PROPECIA and should not handle crushed or broken PROPECIA tablets because the active ingredient may cause abnormalities of a male baby’s sex organs. If a woman who is pregnant comes into contact with the active ingredient in PROPECIA- Prevent Hair Loss, a doctor should be consulted. PROPECIA tablets are coated and will prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets are not broken or crushed.Hair Loss Medication
You may need to take PROPECIA-Prevent Hair Loss daily for 3 months or more before you see a benefit from taking PROPECIA. If PROPECIA has not worked for you within 12 months, further treatment is unlikely to be of benefit.Hair Loss Medication
PROPECIA can only work over the long term if you continue taking it. If you stop taking PROPECIA, you will likely lose any hair you have gained within 12 months of stopping treatment.Propecia Pharmacy
Although results will vary, generally you will not be able to grow back all the hair you have lost.
Know the facts. PROPECIA-Prevent Hair Loss is available by prescription only, so the best thing to do is talk to your doctor.Hair Loss Medication
Propecia (Finasteride) has been available since 1997 and is the first oral medication to ever be approved by the (Propecia Pharmacy) F.D.A. specifically for the prevention of hair loss. A physician’s prescription is required. The overwhelming majority of men using this drug experience some benefit from its use, sometimes dramatically. It takes a full year before the full benefits can be fully seen and appreciated (Hair Loss Medication). The recent 7-year research studies show (Propecia Pharmacy) that, for most patients, there is a substantial increase in the number and quality of hairs growing on the patient’s scalp for around 4-5 years, somewhat paralleling the length of time of a hair’s anagen growth cycle. After that, the patient’s overall hair mass on top very gradually starts dropping ever so slightly each year, so that at the end of around 10 years, the patient is back to where he started 10 years earlier(Hair Loss Medication). From our present knowledge of how the drug works, it makes sense to take it even after that point, because the rate of loss will still be dramatically less rapid than if one goes off the drug Propecia Pharmacy. There also are many clinicians and investigators who believe that finasteride works nearly as well when administered in dosage amounts substantially lower (and cheaper) than that recommended by Merck.Propecia Pharmacy
In our opinion, (Hair Loss Medication) Propecia-Prevent Hair Loss is a valuable weapon against the hereditary onslaught of hair loss and is a much better choice than using Rogaine (Minoxidil) as a single treatment. I should be mentioned here that combining Rogaine and Propecia has a synergistic effect, which means that the benefits can be greater than the combined “solo” effects of the drugs. Another strategy that we commonly use is to combine transplanting of the front part of the head in a younger patient with prescribing Propecia to help retain the hair in back.Hair Loss Medication.Propecia Pharmacy
